As we left the animal hospital after my cat’s 24-hour stay, a sweet kitten greeted us near the front desk. Perched like a tiny supervisor, she was apparently waiting impatiently for someone to power up the printer and scanner—she likes the sounds they make. Meanwhile, my own cat (not pictured here) had made a remarkable recovery during his stay. While the hospital cat kept watch over her beloved machines, I couldn’t help but smile, grateful for the care that had given my boy a second chance.

My dads first bonding experience with one of our cats was when he got a new printer. They got it set up and running as a team effort. That cat loved watching paper come out of the printer, and when they were done my dad set the printer to pump out 50 blank pages.

Adorable Tortie! Wish mine wasn’t so timid. She’s a walking disaster (chewing plastic and paper) but super loving and playful.

So glad to hear your boy recovered! Hospital stays are the worst, just a miserable place for your cat and for you. Hope he stays on the steadily mend and healthy for a long time!
