    what a weird article.

    a lengthy speculation about a rumor that both sides deny regarding a merger that makes no sense for either side.

    for tsmc, this would be like an electric car company in 2025 agreeing to take responsibility for outdated factory equipment from 2015, and for Intel they’d basically just be handing over their still financially successful business to their top competitor.

    I don’t see why this is an article.

      Because engagement = money. It’s like the stackoverflow cheat code: ask question, twink and answer said question wrongly, profit as dozens of sweaty nerds call you regarded and offer the right answer.

    Seems premature to offer such a solution before we can see what Intel 18A is like.

    I agree with the article that there is no way TSMC would actually be interested in a JV with Intel around their fabs. They have their own successful semiconductor fab business.
