It may seem obvious that governments should think through their policies before implementing them; if they don’t, they risk encountering the dreaded law of unintended consequences. That’s exactly what’s happening in the United States’ defense-industrial policy.

Unless you’re Russian or Chinese, you’re not going to like the alternative.

There’s a lot wrong with the USA’s military-industrial complex and with its global hegemony but this alternative is going to lead to a lot more wars worldwide.

Make US weak again and never ever let them become strong again. Let’s go rest of the world. Let those war factories roar back to life and become less reliant on US military industry. And everyone should have nukes.

But he is. It’s defense stocks are dropping and the GOP budget proposes to slash military spending by over 30% I’m the next 5 years.

They’re quite literally making the US weaker while helping Russia assert itself in Europe

We do not spend “1000%” more than other countries, and what we do spend is heavily wasted as well.

A 30% reduction is the largest cut for the military in decades. It will absolutely have an impact, as will losing the trust of our allies. No one will let us station troops in their country when we show the world that we’re a bunch of backstabbers.
