Sure he does. Because the German “go-home-service” can’t find their ass in a brown paper bag without their big buddies from the US.
Given the history of the post WW2 German intelligence service, I’d have a much more sinister suspicion, when the head of the BND hopes that the current US in its current, and most likely future condition for a long time, will be on the same side again soon.
