It’s blatant extortion now.

I’m Canadian, I don’t have the luxury of treating it like a lie. If we’re wrong, and he means it, I lose my home and my way of life. I have to treat it as a serious threat. I have to try and make sure my nation is ready for the worst outcome imaginable - a fight where we can’t win, we won’t surrender and where everything I’ve ever been taught tells me to die for my country.

Old age, bomb or bullet - one way or the other, I’m dying a Canadian.

You could also lose your life if you’re a military-aged male.

If it comes down to it, many of us will have to die for our country, and the end result would be the same when he takes over our country. I’m surprised that I’m actually surprised this the end result of him becoming president a second time. This has been going even worse than I had expected.

Great take. I agree. We know this from Project 2025. Keep an eye on it but don’t let it distract. Trump and cronies are using a strategy coined flood the zone to prevent coordinated opposition against them in politics and media.

Have these random programs actually helped Americans?

To my naive view, would America not he better served with a far more progressive tax system, in lieu of spending these large sums to foreign countries and various agencies that squander what could be given to the poor?

In what world is giving the poor more money directly not he an effective means of raising their standard of living, which should be the main point of a progressive government?

Maybe, but that’s not what he’s doing. He’s raising taxes on the poor while cutting social programs and not giving anyone but billionaires money.

They are in the process of transitioning to a government that does not care about the people and does not provide for them. People here aren’t going to get any benefit. Just like with the Empire, the only ones who reap any benefits are the Oligarchs.

Given the crazy spending how much do you feel in dollar value the low end workers would be getting per year?

They don’t get much money back in taxes, no universal healthcare, I don’t think child care is covered. So what are they getting for all the spending?

Nothing. The government doesn’t care about our votes anymore. We’re no longer necessary for the king to hold power. They have no interest in helping Americans because Americans won’t be voting again.
