Dozens of Social Security Administration offices across the country are slated to close this year due to actions taken by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency as part of the Trump administration’s unprecedented effort to shrink the size of government.
DOGE has published a list of nearly 800 federal real estate leases that it is seeking to cancel.
AP’s website doesn’t suck, but fuck it. Here’s the list:

That seems strongly weighted towards red states - it’s really helpful to waking people up that Musk transparently doesn’t give a shit about poor people even when they agree with him politically.
Interesting that the one in Montana is in the blue part of the state
Or is it intentional for this round of closures because these would likely service people that would swallow the GOP “trust me bro” excuse for longer?
Social security floats above a loyalty and political punditry, especially for recipients. That check is their lifeline. You fuck with that and people are likely to turn pretty quickly.
Here’s me laughing uncontrollably at the fact that it’s overwhelmingly red states getting hit by this
Those kids whos who also depend on that income don’t deserve it. Have some heart for your fellow neighbors please
I don’t, though. I’m out of energy.
It’s unfortunate that the kids are being hurt by their parents idiocy, but if the parents need to hurt or kill their kids to learn anything, at this point, my reaction is “so be it”. I’m not rooting for kids to die, to be clear. But at the same time, I’m at this point unmoved by the suffering of children whose parents refuse to even learn anything when they get their kid killed.
There’s so many more important and worthwhile things to care about. I’m not going to waste any cycles from my already deeply overloaded brain to give a shit about kids who are probably going to be indoctrinated to the same idiocy their parents got into (my uncle became a Christian fundie; the transition of how his family acted all around was WILD to watch, and is still deeply disturbing to me).
Trump is waging war on his own voters.
He doesn’t need his voters anymore. None of the scenarios where he inevitably leaves office involve an election.
And, at this point, I really do think it is completely fucking hilarious, because a lot of them are still drinking the kool-aid while they watch him make life materially worse for them. I simply cannot force myself to care about such deeply imbecilic people. I’m so, so tired.
