    A hard pivot would have been going into food blenders. A launch company going into satellites seems more like just following the money.

      Oh, definitely. It sounds like the CEO is pretty up front about that:

      “The launch market is relatively small compared to the economic potential of satellite communication,” Wrenn said. “Launch has generally been more of a cost center than a profit center. Satcom will be a much larger piece of the overall industry.”

      A hard pivot would have been going into food blenders.

      Hey, at least blenders also spin. I suspect the choice of the word “pivot” was not an accidental one by Berger :)

      They wouldn’t have gotten the same investor money if they started with this concept, though. They got money to be SpinLaunch, so this is a pivot and a bit of a bait and switch for investors. Kind of like Relativity getting a $billion+ in investments for 3d printed rockets, then turning into Ariane.
