    Fathers who do that think they are just doing innocent pranks, but unless you next show the kid that it was all lies, so they develop skepticism, it’s doing a disservice to the kids.

    There’s another strip where Calvin asks where the sun goes when it sets. His dad says it sets in Arizona and that’s why it’s so hot there. And that’s still how I remember that the sun sets to the west.

      There’s another one where he asks his dad where wind comes from, and to this day when it’s windy, I think, “Boy, the trees are really sneezing today.”

    My mother would always do that. It just lead to me seeing right through her bullshit when I was about five and never trusting anything she said from then on.
