There’s that one fork or spoon that you like more than others. Why?
My brother found a spoon on the side of the road when he was probably 6-7 years old. Our great-grandmother washed it and it became his special spoon when we visited her. I was a couple years younger and I got jealous of his special spoon so she found another unique spoon that didn’t match any of her other silverware. That became my spoon. It stayed at her house until I was an adult. When I moved out in my own, she gifted it to me. It’s been almost 40 years. I still have it and smile every time I use it.
For years I had one fork leftover from when I first moved out on my own. Every single time I got that fork, I was disappointed because it was so light and flimsy compared to all the other forks.
Then one day I realized… I could just throw out the fork. The fork was adding no value to my life. I had other forks. So I threw it out and then felt vaguely sad for some reason I could not identify.
So I guess that was my favourite fork.
Aww. That was your first grownup fork.
I moved out of my parents house when I was 20, to a one-room student apartment. Living with my parents was a major struggle with large amounts of friction, so I was excited about this liberation. On my first day of having moved in, I was quickly struck by the realisation that I owned way too few things to make life work on my own, and hence, I went to the supermarket to supply myself.
One of the first purchases I made was the most basic model of cutlery - three spoons, three forks and three knives. They are the cheapest type of metal cutlery you can buy in Sweden generally speaking and you can find them in cheaply supplied places everywhere.
They are still by far my favourite cutlery. I prefer it over the fancier ones that my grandma gave me, even though those are also very nice, perhaps because of what they mean to me - moving out and living on my own.
Like 1 out of the set? That are all virtually identical?
I don’t have a set… Just random ones. Look at you being all adult with a set
It’s just one set. I definitely don’t have two sets. Definitely not.
I like this one. I want more of them but it’s not made any more. I guess I can watch eBay but paying $4 per spoon seems like a lot for something 40 years old.

It might have been onieda but I can’t remember. I was so happy when someone bought them for us off our registry.
14 years later I do not have a favourite spoon or fork. They are all still in the same shape!
A thread on here once mentioned Knorks and I decided to buy a few to try them out, and I love them!
Am I wrong in not having a favourite?
