At least seven people were injured Saturday morning in a shooting that halted a popular Boston parade, police said.

The victims were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Two arrests were made and multiple firearms recovered, police said.

Boston Police Sgt. Det. John Boyle earlier said the shooting occurred during the J’ouvert Parade, which is part of the city’s Caribbean Carnival.

Police Commissioner Michael Cox later clarified that the violence erupted on the outskirts of the event. The parade was halted because of the shooting, which was unrelated, Cox said.

Can’t even go to public outings these days. This is basically domestic terrorism.

I mean shootings are no good, but they’re saying it was unrelated to the event.

Coulda been anything, and probably wasn’t random.

It might not be directly related to the event but this particular parade has had multiple shootings in the past. My family stopped going decades ago after my dad and little sister had to run from some asshole who was firing into a crowd. My whole thought process seeing the headline

News: “7 shot in Boston…” Me: “Oh no!” News: “At Caribbean Day parade” Me: “Oh, that tracks”

Naw, surely if just more people had guns in this crowded event they would’ve stopped the shooter and there definitely wouldn’t be bullets flying and people confused as to who the actual instigator was.
