This is way too oversimplified, reagan trickle down, was shit, the rich hoarded the money and agreed with you on that but he also committed HIGH TREASON, he was sending weapons to iran and then using the funds for the contras without congress permission and was a huge no no. You don’t just send military tech to our iran, without permission of congress to use to fund the contras.

Cannot say much on clinton but which we bush we talking the 2000 one that built the foundations for the new surveillance state or was it Reagan vice president, who found a dealer who was stupid enough to sell crack at the white house.

Obama had his sort of issues, like bailing out the banks instead of experiencing the consequences, obamacare was not universal healthcare more of a bandaid to the mess of healthcare before it that was somehow even worse, and no wearing a tan suit is not a scandal. He had his up like trying to expand broadband, net neutrality, there may be more but that what I know atm, also a great comedian.

Reagan was a staunch supporter of NASA. https://www.nasa.gov/history/40-years-ago-president-reagan-directs-nasa-to-build-a-space-station/

George W aimed to reduce the deficit. https://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news/releases/2006/02/20060208-9.html

Trump aims to reduce healthcare costs by ensuring transparency in billing. https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/02/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-announces-actions-to-make-healthcare-prices-transparent/

Why do these ghouls’ “goals” matter so much to yall? That shit is all just messaging and optics. “Goals” do not put food in the table. Stop pretending these parties are so different. A venn diagram of dem policies and republican policies is basically a circle - with abortion and gun rights being the 2 main opposing positions.

Despite all these totally noble and definitely not feigned “goals”, and multiple dem presidents, income inequality continues to balloon.

The only way to think that the two parties have similar goals is if you do not in any way understand their platforms

We have universal health care? News to me. Last I recall, Obama also made the rich richer and promised change only to deliver none.

We don’t need to lie to prove a point.

The Affordable Care Act was not universal health care, and Obama specifically avoided campaigning on that option. Instead we got Romney Care.

Obamacare was certainly a huge disappointment. But he did fight hard for it against very determined obstruction by the right. So while you can say it’s not great, at least he did try.

Then surely you’ll respect the fact that George W sought to reduce the deficit just as Clinton did, correct?

Is that why he lied his way into 2 wars so long that children were deployed with their parents? To accomplish his goal of reducing the deficit?

You’re right, he did make a lot of cuts to education, which helped to lead us to our current situation where people are denying basic science like germ theory and the earth being round. That’s been a Republican goal for at least 4 decades.

The Democrats didn’t even try to push universal healthcare. They chatted about it slightly and then quickly decided that they really wanted Obamacare. We all know that it was an intentional handout to the insurance companies, and you can blame obstructionist Republicans if you like, because they certainly did exist, but the Democrats were happy with what they got.

And I think it’s extra clear that the Democrats were more than happy to please their corporate funders because of how they handled the big bank bailout around the same time.

The only reason it isn’t universal healthcare is because of Republicans neutering it as much as they possibly could.

Cool knowledge of history you have there
