See, here’s the problem. If the Left weren’t so goddamn spineless, they would have taken tan-suit-gate and spun it right back at the media.
Obama should have gone one step further and worn a white suit the very next day. And then wear that same tan suit on the same day as a memorial the following year. Biden should have continued the trend and worn a tan suit that same day during his presidency and so should have Democrats in Congress.
Except for the recent Dark Brandon memes, the Left is so goddamn afraid to call the media and right wing pundits on their bullshit. Lecture the more legitimate press for turning a nothing-burger into “news” and help to discredit the right wing press even more than they already have been.

Hard agree. Political reporting and discourse are in a sorry enough state as it is without charging headfirst in a race to the bottom.
The only people who seriously engage with things like #tangate are the lowest of low information voters who Republicans have trained to view politics as entertainment to distract from how badly they are being conned. A little light meming is fine to show you’re onto the game, but we absolutely do not need that politics-as-entertainment mindset to spread any further.
