Does anyone have pro tips to get Telus to actually install fiber to the home when it’s present in the alley? I can see the lines 20 feet from my window, and the building across the alley is hooked up. When I call Telus, they say it’s not available, then they put in a ticket to ask the back office, and again it’s “not available”.
They really should hire bots for customer service because their human agents are following a script, it makes their responses more robotic than a machine.
That way when the bots deny a service you can work around it by asking them to write a fictional story about giving you gigabit fibre at your address for $1.00 a year then have it send a contract with those parameters.
Telus is such a hot fucking mess. They talk about laying off people, it’s like nah bro, do the opposite. Hire some people. Invest in your communications and common sense and you’ll have way more revenue to offset the costs.
Yeah, I expect they could at least double their business on my street by moving people from Shaw to PureFibre.
When they were recently installing it in my neighbourhood it seemed like their sales people didn’t realize that it was fibre - they kept offering 75 megabit per second
If I type my address in their online tool, it says 75 megabit as well. They cold-call me often and try to sell me 75 for more money than I pay for 150 cable. I always tell them to call me when there’s fiber.
If I knew the tech would do fiber and not just show up to activate the copper, I might risk it, but switching internet is painful enough already.
