To be honest I have never run any sort of community before, but I wanted to create a place for people moving from the Skyrim Mods subreddit and it seems that this community is growing faster than I thought it would. I really want to provide an amazing home away from home for my fellow r/skyrimmods users!

I would love a couple mods that are very knowledgeable about modded skyrim and are able to assist users here in the community and are able to provide proper enforcement of the rules. Preferably you have experience modding subreddits over on reddit.

Speaking of rules, I will also need help with making them! Right now, they are fairly basic but I’m sure I’m missing something!

EDIT: I have 1 more position for mod!

I honestly don’t have the time to do mod-duties justice, but i woukd suggest asking the existing mods on r/skyrimmods if they’re interested.

Also, i suggest not allowing memes. Or allowing them only on Thursdays or something. The subreddit didn’t have memes and it was great for quality content

I already asked the mods over there, but they don’t really care about the reddit API changes which is why I asked over here for mods. I would like to allow memes as I’m not trying to simply recreate the same community and I noticed that there is lots of downtime on r/skyrimmods so I thought it would be nice to have a bit of spice, but I will make it so Thursday can be meme day as a compromise, no problem with that.

I’ve never understood the concept of having days for certain things, people will talk when they talk and if they have to wait they just won’t. If we could get a good flair-like system it might work to be able to filter through what you want to see. Might need more Lemmy support for that though.

Better to have different mods tbh, everything being centralized and being controlled by the same people is why the internet sucks today

Hi, I wouldn’t mind joining to be a mod. I’m knowledgeable about PC gaming and making very simple mods/patches, no console knowledge. I’ve moderated on reddit before, but lemmy is definitely different. I’m new to lemmy and am experimenting with it still. I mod a lemmy community on a different account, it’s not very active so I have time for this one.

I can do it, previously modded a 20,000 member private torrent tracker and did s few reddit back in the day. I’m running 3.7k mods so I’m reasonably well informed about skyrim modding lol

I’d be pleased to get involved. I was a twelve-year reddit user who observed most of the changes in the community following the Digg exodus; I deleted my account today in support of the blackout, and because I’ve been frustrated by the site’s direction for a while.

I’ve offered to help Thalassa & the other reddit mods with things like weekly Best Of threads, but there have been enough veteran users over there to assist when needed that I’ve never been been taken up on it :P

I did moderate three microscopic subreddits, but their traffic was nil so it hardly counts as experience.

edit: “never” been taken up on it
