    As much as I hate that it happened and demonize America for doing it, I think without Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we would have had a nuclear exchange by the 1960s. They were begging to have one with stuff like this. MacArthur wanted to nuke the Chinese during the Korean War.

    But the results were clear, the absolute horror it would cause, and I think that’s the only thing that held the people at the top back.

    Remember that there are nuke shells that can be fired from every 155mm nato standard artillery :)

          I suspect Ukraine would not be too keen on the idea of irradiating their own land.

            Nukes don’t cause long therm radiation as the nuclear material is almost entirely used up for the explosion, the remaining radiation goes to unproblematic levels within a few weeks.

            This is of course if the Nuke is used correctly, if its used with a impact fuse the dirt around the explosion will be radioactive for longer, however also not that much.

            Nukes aren’t Dirty bombs (and strictly speaking Ukraine has already a gigantic dumping sight for radioactive material… No offense but Chernobyl can be seen as that)
