Are you sure he’s not actually George Santos? Have they been seen in the same room together?

Primary the bastard. Party leaders need to get behind one name. But I am curious about his explanation for $500k in cash in his house….fell out of a truck, found in the rafters of his home, from the great train robbery….?

Party leaders need to get behind one name.

Party leaders get behind the incumbent. At least that’s their reasoning when they fuck over progressive challengers.

Party leaders get behind the most procorporate and pro oligarchy candidate.

Those are the only actual decision points.

He was primaried in 2018 after his first corruption charges didn’t stick. He was backed by members of the party as the incumbent and raised nearly $4 million for his campaign. His opponent got over a third of the vote with a campaign that raised less than $10,000.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., on Friday rejected calls for him to resign from Congress, saying he plans to fight charges that include allegations of bribery and corruption.

The senator’s statement comes in response to a growing number of Democrats in New Jersey and on Capitol Hill calling for him to step down after a federal indictment against him and his wife was unsealed Friday morning.

“Under our legal system, Senator Menendez and the other defendants have not been found guilty and will have the ability to present evidence disputing these charges, and we must respect the process," Murphy said in a statement.

Rep. Andy Kim, D-N.J., also called on Menendez to step down, saying he lacked "confidence that the Senator has the ability to properly focus on our state and its people while addressing such a significant legal matter.”

In exchange, the couple received lavish bribes, including “cash, gold bars, payments toward a home mortgage, compensation for a low-or-no-show job, a luxury vehicle and other items of value,” prosecutors said.

Menendez dismissed the allegations against him in a statement Friday, arguing that he is facing “an active smear campaign of anonymous sources and innuendos to create an air of impropriety where none exists” and suggesting that prosecutors have “misrepresented the normal work of a Congressional office.”

The original article contains 701 words, the summary contains 216 words. Saved 69%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

    And why should he?

Were he a republican, he’d turn his corruption into a campaign slogan. Indictments would only make him more electable.

Oh, he took bribes? We have a SC justice that has been whoring himself out to right-wing special interests for years and won’t even pretend to be sorry about it.

So fuck it, Bob. Take them bribes. Everyone else is doing it so why can’t you?

Oh, he’s serving people. Some people more than others.

The Republicans have a congressman that literally made up his entire resume. Education, previous work experience, all of it. Complete fiction. Aaaaaand when he was caught red handed, did he quit? Resign? Nope.

Even when the feds caught up with him with indictments for fraud and money laundering, did he quit then? Not a chance.

Not only is he still a sitting member of the House… THE DUDE IS RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION.

So, why the hell are the Democrats the only ones that have to hold themselves to any sort of moral or ethical principles? The GOP sure as hell don’t. Just ask Mr. 91 Indictments Primary Front Runner yourself.

Of course he’s a criminal. Put him on trial, give him his due process, and then toss him in hole so he can serve his debt to society.

But we’re not talking about trying him. The question was: Should he resign?

My argument is that he should resign the exact second Santos a Thomas do and not a moment before.

I another reality, charges like this ended careers. Now they lead to landslide GOP primary wins. Fucking disgusting.
