There is a discussion on Hacker News, but feel free to comment here as well.
Even used cars cost a fucking fortune right now. I saw a PT cruiser the other day with $9500 on the window. What the fuck
Still can’t beat the $2000 shitbox Civic that suddenly isn’t a shitbox after you put $500 worth of parts into it.
Enjoy your $5000 Civic you made with $2500.
I saw a 2019 Chevy Spark the other day with 80,000km priced a couple hundred bucks under MSRP, it’s insane trying to buy used right now.
I have a 1999 Honda Civic with a low mileage of 1.2 million miles for sale @ $15k. No low ballers
Needs paint, new tires, new clutch, and the tint is peeling off the windows making it hard to see put of. Needs a quart or 2 of oil each week.
It is worth $15k, so no low ballers.
For those who don’t understand, this is a joke
When the random car a family member had and gifted to you dies there is going to be a lot of people walking. The only thing keeping people afloat right now is hand me down cars from parents\family members that get a new car.
Another reason to end car dependency.
Exactly. People shouldn’t need cars. If they want one, fine but it’s damn near a requirement almost everywhere in the US.
Im one of these Americans.
Shocked Pikachu
Why the hell would I buy a new car? I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Spyder (think convertible Eclipse) that just needs a new head gasket, and a 2004 F150 that runs like a top.
Thought about trading both in for something in the middle for fuel economy, towing and hauling, but I’m not seeing anything tempting.
Fuck 'em. Either prices drop or I stand pat.
I love when I buy a new car and its instantly worth thousands less than what i just paid for it.
That’s true for any product as a percentage of its RRP. Why would anyone buy a used product for the price of new.
