It sort of exists. In Reading Rainbow S6E1 “The Bionic Bunny Show”, LeVar gives a tour of the TNG set and explains the show production. (somewhat odd, IMDB has the episode incorrectly listed as S5E1)
You can watch this episode on youtube, and also just the Star Trek parts of the episode which were recut as a special feature for one of the TNG Bluray releases.
This was one of my favorite episodes as a kid.
Thanks!
It’s not just a reading rainbow anymore. Now it’s the entire reading EM spectrum

A blind man that can see better than the average human gonna teach you to read
Instead of reading children’s books, he’s reading the warp engine operation manual and Introduction to Advanced Warp Mechanics.
So, yeah… children’s books. Obviously.
Already happened; there was a Reading Rainbow episode where LeVar Burton showed the audience the Star Trek TNG set. He showed how the transporter effect was glitter stirred in a glass. It was pretty awesome to see that as a kid and it also made some connections between fiction and reality that can really help ground an impressionable mind.

I hope you won that round of Tee K.O.
Reading rainbow with Geordi La Forge?
Yes!
Shouldn’t Geordie have a yellow uniform? Or is he no longer in engineering when promoted to the reading rainbow department?
He is certainly “in command” there, at least of his audience’s attention.
It’s from when he was a bridge officer in the first season.
They did that. They had an episode of Reading Rainbow where he talks about playing Geordi and shows off the set and other things from the show. It’s how I know how they did the transporter effect, as it was explained on that episode of RR! They just had some blue beads in a graduated cylinder and stirred it up. 😃
Toss in Kwame from Captain Planet and I’m in. The man taught me about reading, conservation, and warp theory.
LeVar Burton Reads?
Best podcast out there
I can’t help but feel its absence between seasons. My favorite thing to listen to while cutting the grass, hands down.
