As a dad I would also protect my son but everyone can see this is not just bad luck, it’s bad performance. The Strolls seemed to have thought they could buy experienced drivers and that it would rub off on Lance, but the only rubbing that’s been happening are walls.

Let’s not tell him than even when there is no bad luck, he finishes 10 places behind Fernando. He absolutely is the reason Aston is struggling in the championship. They would probably be 2nd if he was even slightly closer to his teammate.

The valid question is how other drivers would far against Alonso. Of course some would be much closer, but how would Sargeant, Magnussen or Tsunoda fare against Alonso?

No it doesn’t matter to ask yourself that as it’s impossible to honestly predict. Different cars, different teams different people altogether. We only have data on how Stroll did, and it wasn’t great. And nobody is getting that seat anyway as long as Stroll owns that team.

If talent plus preparation equals luck, then I wonder in which measure Lance is deficient.

Damn bruh, I guess Lance walked under a ladder while dropping a mirror on a black cat, because he has been dogshit the entire season
