    So what? This was the 7-8th centuries CE in a predominantly Christian region.

        Probably just means they had a pretty hard time finding 1300-year-old skin that was preserved enough for that.

            You’re right, that’s dumb, I’m removing it. I was just thinking about how it’s frowned upon to have super visible tattoos in some places in our society, but that’s obviously not going to be apples to apples throughout history.
