Thanks again NIMBYs.
This isn’t on Legault, necessarily. I put it on the NIMBYs who couldn’t fathom a SkyTrain on René Lévesque. As much as I hate to blame “my side”, the fault is with the progressives who got squeamish about the CDPQ plan.
I also blame whoever caved to the NIMBYs. Like, why listen to a small but vocal minority who will always complain about progress? Basically everyone else wanted the REM de l’Est, and the NIMBY demands were frankly ridiculous. It’s one thing to be NIMBY about an oil refinery being built next door; it’s another thing to complain about a genuinely attractive electric light metro being built next door. If anything, their property values would go UP for having REM nearby!
So Legault pushed this just to then say we’re not going to build it because it’s too expensive? Should’ve sticked to the original proposal
Thanks for nothing Legault!

Money is fake… Just do it anyway
l’argent c’est fake pour le fédéral, oui, mais pour les autres ce ne l’est pas.
Peut être si on lançait un projet pour un autre lien vers la rive sud à partir de Repentigny il aimerait ça
ça pas de bon sens lala à la François Legeault
Is the REM running yet? I’ve seen empty trains going to the south shore.
They are still doing tests.
But this article is about the extension to the east.
