I acknowledge their thumbnail is horrible. They’re a great channel, though!

I miss when LPL’s videos contained actual information.

Every video for a couple of years now is the same thing.

    • Throw shade at the manufacturer in the intro.
    • Use some tool he sells on his website to defeat the lock.
    • Throw some more shade.
    • Never elaborate on any of the internal mechanisms, just reiterate that it can be defeated with this tool he sells at his shop.

Go back a few years and you’ll see the difference. The channel is really just two minute ads for his shop now.

Most locks are similar, he now only shows details for unusual locks.

He takes out the handle with a pry bar and you can reach in and take the gun. What further do you want them to explain lol

Okay, that’s one video. Now do the 1500 or so others with minimal information.

His videos have devolved to the level of a low effort shitpost.

It’s just that your complaint was under this particular video.

I quite like his videos. They’re very cozy

In this case it’s … Really not worth explaining anything? And it’s not like it’s an unusual tool. It’s just a pry bar.

      Agree in general though

He still does teardowns sometimes, but he definitely gets more views just talking shit. His videos over ten minutes get a fraction of the engagement.

Personally, I’m a massive fan of McNallyOfficial these days, who also just mostly simps covert instruments, but he does so while demonstrating all the ways that a speed square can be used to defend against mannequin attacks.

Those vids are highly entertaining. He has also taught me that a lot of padlocks can be opened just by smacking them, which is fun to watch.

Just wait until you see the SmartFire:

In their ad’s they leave it on a bookshelf behind their couch, while they watch a movie with their kid.

There’s definitely no way a child with access to Wikipedia/ youtube could get that out. /s

Edit: Here’s a Forgotten Weapons video to give the Biofire™️ some context/ credence:

Doesn’t that gun not engage the electronic firing mechanism if you don’t authenticate via fingerprint? Or am I thinking of a different one?

I’m going to do an edit and link a forgotten weapons video to give it credence. You’re correct. I still think someone could easily break the gun away from the holster (including a child), and eventually figure out a way to fire the gun.

Edit: Also, I’m a pro-arms advocate; I also believe in responsible storage and use.

The only way a gun is safe is by melting it

I agree. That’s why there should be as many “complications”, as possible. The struggle is making an easily accessible gun, that isn’t accessible to others. It’s a puzzle.

On DoD approved safes the time to defeat it is listed. If you’re willing to make noise you can beat them in as little as 30m.

“I don’t know how anyone can be this stupid and still breathing”

LPL’s YouTube channel has unfortunately got pretty weak over the last couple years. Very short videos showing things that we’ve seen hundreds of times before. Very little extra information anymore. Really not worth watching.

From what I’ve heard, they’ve gone the way of click bait, but they’re old stuff is good. This video in particular is pretty funny too, and a good psa.
