There’s a lot of instances using a language I don’t understand. I’ve been using Jerboa, and the only option I’ve seen is to block communities individually every time I come across one, but the popular ones have multiple communities (are they even called communities? My past reddit brain keeps calling them subreddits). So is there a way to block whole instances for my account?
Unfortunately, not yet. Communities is the most you can do atm.
Have you tried changing your language settings in your account settings? In theory, it should only show you posts in the languages you set.
I didn’t! Jerboa doesn’t have that setting in the app. I just checked my main instance through a browser and it gave me a language option. Thanks!

Unfortunately, no as far as I know. I personally think this should be the answer rather than Defederation. I’m not sure where to make a feature request for lemmy but I’m not sure why this hasn’t been suggested before.
