About how our skills are deprecated and then we get laidoff, role eliminated or whatever. I myself have a list of tools and skills that are already deprecated. The only useful thing left is riding a bike.

This video is great. I started at a ColdFusion shop as my first job, and they were just starting “let’s use Java for anything new”. They are still using 70% ColdFusion 10 years later.
I have already adopted the “everything becomes technical debt” mindset. The trick is to have a good idea on how fast it will become technical debt. Simple things that are non language specific can be immediate technical debt, like hardcoded values.
