I recently upgraded to a new computer and I’m encountering a bit of a puzzle with my RAM speeds. I’m hoping to tap into the community’s knowledge to figure this out.
My Rig:
-
CPU: Intel 14900k
-
Motherboard: ASRock Z790 Steel Legend DDR5 ATX
-
RAM: Kingston Fury DDR5 128GB (4x32) at 5200MHz
The Issue:
Different monitoring programs are showing me varying RAM speeds, and I can’t figure out which one to trust. Here’s what they’re saying:
XMP Profile Setting: The XMP profile is currently set to ‘auto’ but I have the option of Profile 1 and Profile 2.
My Questions:
- Real RAM Speed: How can I accurately determine the current speed of my RAM?
- Expected Performance: Considering I’m running 128GB of RAM, what’s a realistic speed I should expect with that much capacity?
- How do I increase my ram clock speed and is there any risk?
Thanks in advance.
I have no idea for 4x32GB but my 4x16GB 6600 XMP has been great on MSI Z790 Tomahawk WIFI + i9 13900K. This PC has been running 24/7 for almost a year.
