Just curious to know how many mods here are
- A. still “here” and active
- B. here but given up due to lack of momentum, interest
- C. abandoned platform completely
- D. just waiting for the 1 year mark and praying new users and posters will continue to come
- E. other? (like only relying at alternative matrix chat)
I’ll be happy to see more than 10 responses from this dead community 😉
[Update 11/18]: glad to see comments, feedback, much more than I expected. Also see the modlog for actions taken. Just wanted to point out a couple of threads:
- https://lemmynsfw.com/post/2601241, by @[email protected]
- https://lemmynsfw.com/post/418317 - this topic has been hashed over and over, and I’m not about to let this thread/community get derailed.
[Update Nov 20] : WRT downvoting - see https://lemmynsfw.com/post/4581685
Lemmy as a whole is slowly growing, we’ve continually seen an uptick in posts here, and improvements in the UI and source code. I have faith that it will continue to grow, slowly but surely.
I check my reports and then go about my day for the most part. I don’t have time to be super active and I myself don’t want to be fully engrossed in nsfw content every day lol.
But I do plan to start promoting Lemmy more on my subs on Reddit. I’ve seen some people begin to do it without pushback so I’ll be doing it too.
Edit: Forgot to add: Right now we are seeing mostly mainstream pages get posts and not much on the more niche pages. That’s normal, that’s how reddit was for awhile, growth takes time and will come.
Very true. It’s not realistic to expect that LemmyNSFW will become Reddit within a year. I like building up niche communities slowly - and only post/crosspost to mainstream comms occasionally though.
Reddit auto-removes any mention of LemmyNSFW links in user comments - I just tried recently and the auto remove happened within 10 minutes. DMs and mod mail are not touched currently so that is how I try to reach folks individually. I’ve also taken to captioning images with relevant LemmyNSFW comm names for stuff I post at Reddit…
I’m a mod on subs so I was going to put an automod message, things that have worked there are using a URL shortener or linking to a wiki page with the url
