    I think it’s to make us believe there are consequences, even for those in power. So thay when there are no consequences in real life for the powers that be we tend to believe that it must not have been so bad.

      My first thought on reading that was that it couldn’t be accurate because the US is grey, then I realised that grey just means the country doesn’t collect that data and it suddenly made sense.

        They don’t collect the data because it’s illegal for children to be in the workforce.
