It’s getting cold and so I’m fumbling with my phone and other devices.
I like the idea of a large screen on my forearm, but I’m not sure how it would work. Maybe it would be cool?
I see some company tried in 2014 and probably didn’t get anywhere (see Arubixs Portal), and there was that infamous Kickstarter too
Gaming smartwatch. Memory LCD for low fidelity but long battery life, touchpad areas on the strap, no real buttons. Touch both to unpause and release both to drop back to being mostly just a watch. If it has Bluetooth it might as well show indicator icons for whatever’s going on with your phone.
Obviously this wouldn’t replace your Switch any more than a smartwatch replaces your laptop. It’s for instant gratification in low-stakes games. The ideal, bizarrely, is The Amazing Frog… on Ouya. A sandboxy 3D platformer with no real failure states or goals. It’s something you can pick up whenever, fuck around in for as long as you like, and then drop completely at a moment’s notice. It’ll be there.
