For all those asking, “Who cares?” I care. Many others care. Not necessarily because “famous person does thing,” but because Linux is reaching wider audiences.
I think Linux is a fantastic operating system. I imagine, if you’re partaking in this community, you agree with me. I imagine you’d also agree that reaching higher percentages of the market share would be nice. More people adopting Linux, and trusted personalities adopting and showing off Linux, means it reaches a wider audience and more people may choose to use Linux.
I don’t care about famous people or what they do. I care about Linux. If more people use Linux, I’m happy. Famous people essentially advertising their use of Linux only serves to increase its popularity.
