It’s not a bad sign because he can ignore the courts. “The Supreme Court ruled that former presidents have broad immunity from criminal prosecution for actions taken while in office, particularly those related to their core executive functions.” He has been ignoring the courts. While his staffers can get in to trouble, he can pardon them for disobeying court orders. Or he can get someone else to disobey court orders, whatever he chooses to do. The Supreme Court has made a colossal mistake with this ruling.
The problem is that few stand up to Trump publicly. Those who do (Liz Cheney as an example), are ostracized by the Republican Party. While the Supreme Court shouldn’t be political, Trump could get Congress to expand the number of judges (because which of them are going to stand against Trump?), which would allow the court to be packed with judges who play his game his way.
