Yeah it’s pretty big out where I’m from. They also make smart watches too I believe.
What book are you trying to search for? I’ve noticed that they definitely have a lot, but sometimes not everything, especially if the books are newer. I haven’t really had an issue with the search function though, what exactly is happening when you try searching for a book?
That’s great! It’d definitely help a lot of other people. I found out about Lemmy on my own after a ton of research. Having one of your comments to follow would’ve been so nice!
Same. I also miss the gestures options for controlling the app with just my one thumb. Didn’t think it’d make such an impact in my use of the app.
You could go this route. The phones have good various parental controls, relatively cheap and effective. Gabb Phone
Happened to me too. I just sat and clicked “save settings” about a dozen times and now it seems to be working
It’s not Sync for Reddit, but it gets the job done. Hopefully more development can be made seeing the user base is growing so fast
Idk if @Kresten is a developer on Jerboa or not, but just know that the influx of new users migrating from reddit, like myself, might be causing issues for developers who used to only get a few pull requests a day are well over hundreds of issue tickets being submitted per day so it might take a bit before they can get to your bug/issue.
I’ve been noticing that when I try to paste something on mobile, like a link, into my comment it will move the cursor to the beginning of my comment instead of where I want the pasted link to go
Might be because the server load of new users is too heavy right now. I’m still learning the fediverse, but I do know that it somewhat doesn’t matter what instance you register with as long as the other instance is federated with the one you registered in you’ll be able to access and see all posts.
Sorry for the long sentence, but hopefully that helps. Here is a link to how the fediverse works on a wiki: https://joinfediverse.wiki/Main_Page
Still figuring it all out myself. Idk how to cross post and Idk where the post went, but here is a link to a wiki explaining a bunch of things about the fediverse: https://joinfediverse.wiki/Main_Page
Edit: also I’m using Jerboa and am liking it so far, it’s still a little buggy and not quite as QoL as Sync for Reddit was, but there is potential especially if lemmy/kbin/fediverse gets bigger and bigger from all the redditor migration.
This is exactly what I needed. I’m super interested in the fediverse but had no clue how to use it
This is the level of pettiness that I adore! It’s so annoying it came to this but Reddit is literally shooting itself in it’s head. The more salt we can put on this wound the better! Too bad I was more of a lurker than poster otherwise I’d want to do the same
That’s basically what I’ve been doing. I’ve noticed sometimes it even takes a day or 2 on pending before it joins. I have also noticed that some communities I find outside of lemmy, but made for lemmy, I can’t seem to search for in the search function to join. But that may be because I don’t really understand how lemmy/kbin works.
A bunch are in development but rn your best bet for an app is Jerboa for Lemmy
