CPU temps? Could be throttling from cooler issues - sticker, not seated correctly etc or case does not have enough flow.
SSD/HDD? If your running Windows or your games off a HDD that would be your issues.
Whatever gives you the most for your money and fits your requirements.
I would lean to AMD just for the upgrade path if both options are around the same price/performance.
I switched sides after about 12 years of using AMD CPUs (a 12700k was cheaper to build than 5800X), and this mini beast was a very very good first impression of Intel for me.
Good work on picking what works out best for your budget and not sticking to a specific brand. Everyone needs to do this.
You could run it at 99ºc, 24/7 for 5+ years no issues they don’t care. Like them or not, Intel makes solid products.
