It’s a still from a video. That would be amazing (impossible?) quality for a early 00’s phone, it was probably done on a camcorder. Here’s a YT upload from 2007, not sure when the actual show aired.

I’ve been trying to understand the resistance some have toward moving to these new platforms, especially considering what you say about the ‘old internet’. So many people commenting about things being fractured, having to go to different websites, wanting a large community to jump into, and waiting to see which platform is the platform to be on.
The last one is what bothers me the most, I think. A site to becoming a multi-million user platform with tons of content and a comfy UX takes time; but that time would come faster if people weren’t afraid of being engaged with more than one site. I understand that everyone didn’t jump online in the internet’s Wild West days. Some older folks waited until the internet was more accessible, some are younger and don’t know anything different, but the issues with walled-off, siloed interaction and content should be apparent at this point. The general lack of curiosity and willingness to experiment is frustrating.
I’m sure things like receiving ‘engagement’ stats on every social media site has tainted views on internet interaction. I saw a Reddit thread recently where the OP was referencing views (not even upvote ratios) to defend his post. But I’m starting to lose my own thread here with brain dumping so I’ll stop.
Ope, it’s looking a bit cloudy outside! Better do another trim just in case it rains for a few days!
I started home espresso with a Breville Barista Express. That served me well for about 4 years before I got tired of its limitations, especially in regards to grind uniformity and making adjustments for different roasts (ie temp, pressure, etc.). I stopped using the built in grinder in favor of an Atom 60, which led to a massive improvement and held me over until upgrading to a Profitec Pro 600.
Until I want something plumbed in, or really want to geek out over data from a Decent, I don’t see much reason to upgrade any time soon.
I’ve stayed logged in since creating my account, but trying to log on through Firefox on another computer yesterday gave me the same issue.
Maybe it varies from instance to instance, but on sh.itjust.works there’s a crosspost button near the report flag.
If you want to be task-oriented and not just fuck around, do some continuing education. Depending on the field, there might even be some free options. You stay current, and you have something to show your employer if you get pressed about what you did during downtime.
Oooor you can catch up on some reading or games and enjoy the downtime.
Not all inclusive, just a list of games I’ve personally enjoyed for both story and gameplay. All of these are story-heavy though:
I’ve been thinking about making the switch to 3rd wave instant for travel. Have you found anything better than Verve?
I joined Reddit shortly before Ridiculously Photogenic Runner, and I’ll leave Reddit with Ridiculously Photogenic John Oliver. Not bad.
Hi, here on a Lemmy account! This post showed in my All feed, so it looks like k.bin and Lemmy are starting to federate more (which I think is great).
I think at this point, even were k.bin signups to be closed, defederation is going to be one of the few ways to avoid bad actors spilling from somewhere. I hope that doesn’t happen, but if cultures from Lemmy and k.bin end up different, maybe a way to silo what you see to only your service can be found.
I’m loving my Orea; it’s replaced the V60 most days. I haven’t bothered with flat filters because of the negotiator tool as well, but Kalita filters have been working fine. One thing I’ve found is that some coffee will stay between the brewer and the filter without flowing down. I’m not sure if tipping the Orea and adding that ‘stuck’ coffee is helping or hurting the cup, but once I get a TDS meter I’d like to see how much dissolved solids (or passthrough water) I’m adding at the end of a brew.
Here’s the full archived article instead of a screenshot of a headline:
Not accusing you of this, but there might be confusion between the instance lemmy.world and the self-titled lemmy.world community. This is about moderation in the lemmy.world community, which is meant to discuss the instance; not moderation of the instance as a whole.
Are you looking for something for espresso or pour-over, and what’s your budget?
Interesting, I’ll try playing around with it more. I was on quite a few Beehaw communities, and could only see posts from before defederation while logged in. When viewing those same communities signed out, more recent posts and comments were visible.
You can do it manually, but if you’re operating from your lemmy.world account Beehaw communities won’t update for you. You can only view what was posted before the defederation, if I’m understanding things correctly.
Hey, TigerClaw. Looks like the Lemmy error of throwing your comment into another thread happened.
I had the exact same thing happen, just with a 2014 Hyundai. Only aftermarket remote starts were available when I bought the car, so that’s what was installed at the dealer. Took it in for a recall repair 3 years later and the remote start was broken when I picked the car up.
Contacted multiple dealerships and they wouldn’t touch it since it’s aftermarket (despite being installed at a dealer). The shop that did the recall repair flat out said I couldn’t prove it was their work that broke it so they’re not responsible. My only option was to take it to a local shop that does that type of work. Audio install and aftermarket mod shops were the best bet.
