It’s not about the quantity of food though is it? Moreso money and access?

This is correct. We waste a solid 1/3 of the food we produce and import. And we’re nowhere close to maxing out our food production. We just prevent people from having access to it.

erhm actually ☝️ the food is not wasted it is disposed of 🤓 in order to maintain manufactured scarcity which keeps the price high and shareholders happy! 🤑 another win for capitalism

Yes, but don’t ignore the issue of logisitics as well. We can’t just magic the discarded food to everyone who needs it.

It’s also a big problem with the homeless. Yes, we technically have enough places that we could house them. But are all these homes within walking distance to food, public transport, health resources, and (for as long as there isn’t UBI) employment resources for them? How do we get them what they need to keep the place from falling apart around them, losing their home again?

How do we get people what they need, when they need it? Scarcity is mainly a problem of logistics now.

There’s a lot of failures of society, but very few are so simple to fix as “corpos stop being greedy”. Maybe once upon a time they were, but we’re going to need more on top of that now.

im not really sure i understand what you’re trying to say here. it seems like you’re just listing a bunch of problems and insinuating they’re either unsolvable or too hard to solve.

if you want to look at how to solve “the big problem” with homelessness, you could look at how finland is actively solving it, for example.

and i dont really know of many people who think that if “corpos stop being greedy”, then all the problems will be fixed. my experience is that people tend to instead think the problem is “it’s really bad that our laws cater to greedy corporations, and allow them to do terrible things. so, we should change those laws”.

but i dont know, maybe im misreading what you said or maybe im missing something.

            I heard

            Hunger is a logistics problem

maybe a decade ago… How long do you think it’s been true?
