minus-square@canlink1•edit-221 days agoWhile true, I think it’s because in that sentence it was unnecessary so its inclusion gives the reader the idea the “attempt” part is relevant. Idk, language is weird, but I’m not the only one who read it that way.
“attempts” implies that they couldn’t
