Mods remove a post from /r/worldnews about Musk pushing for the US to leave NATO because it’s “not the appropriate subreddit”…? Excuse me, what the fuck???

But here it’s a lot easier to set up a new home.

[email protected] is still very popular but I saw the writing on the wall and jumped to make an alt [email protected] because people had gripes with the Midwest admin and I wanted to prevent an inevitable Lemmy.world alternative from appearing.

And now we happily co-exist. Theirs tends to focus more on the political while I like to also post the more mundane, slice-of-life, articles

          Man goes to the doctor.

He says “Doctor, I am miserable. I have been banned from one of my favourite Lemmy instances for no good reason.”

Doctor says “Treatment is simple. db0 runs a community for disputing wrongful bans. Go argue with strangers. That should pick you up.”

“But, Doctor…” says the man, “I was banned by db0.”

/r/WorldNews is for non-US-political news, which makes some calls fucking weird. Yes, this impacts the rest of the world… but so does quite a fucking lot of US political news. Sharply drawing that fuzzy line is hard and these people must be tired.

Bro I was on Reddit when they were a fledgling service and bot-boosting to increase apparent traffic. Considering how Reddit has evolved in recent years, I’m frankly not inclined to give them in general, or /u/spez in particular, the benefit of the doubt.
