An internal email obtained by ProPublica said the agency made the change to be “consistent” with a Trump executive order. But at least two other federal law enforcement agencies are still requiring body cameras.

    The problem is that if the body cam vindicates the officer it’s brought out immediately but if it doesn’t it’s hidden as long as possible. They have full control of that data. Always film your interactions with police.

      I’ve seen plenty of bodycam footage of cops doing messed up stuff. Here is the bodycam footage of them beating Tyre Nichols to death. The father who hit and killed the officer from a different department who was directing traffic, because his son got shot after stealing a car and popping out from behind a dumpster with a gun while the cops were chasing him, he apparently got motivated to kill the cop because he saw the bodycam footage.

      I think what you’re saying using to be true, but a lot has changed. Some places, not everywhere. Of course, now it is changing back, everywhere.
