AI Art IS dying. In this video, you’ll hear how AI art is failing left and right, and it’s not doing as well as they say. It’s flawed, unethical, legally ambiguous, and that means it’s time is almost up. Artists: don’t worry about AI art, just persist. I believe in you!
This video is a cope.
If current models never changed again - none of what’s happening would “die.” We already have programs that can turn any image you provide into any image you describe, even if you provide solid noise. Is it noticeably different from the real thing? Sure. So is CGI.
And what video models make possible is drastically different from what CGI makes possible. If you start from words and noise, results are… meh. The motion just is not there. But individual frames look astounding. The hard part is getting things to do things. And it turns out you can film actors, and then tell the program to turn that footage into the footage you describe.
That maligned Corridor Digital rock-paper-scissors anime thing was two years ago. Nothing’s gotten worse, or harder, or less accessible. Is it a foolproof drop-in replacement for anything? Nope. Neither was CGI.
