I’d like to recommend a few non-rogansphere podcasts:

      • LeVar Burton Reads - LeVar Burton picks a short story and reads it to you
      • Darknet Diaries - Jack Rhysider investigates events from the dark side of the internet (mostly cyber crime)
      • NPR: Up First - daily 15 minute top news stories
      • This Week in Tech - 2-3 hour group discussions of current events primarily focused on technology
      • risky.biz - great coverage of current events in the cybersecurity field, plus interviews with industry professionals

I’d suggest YouTubers that deep dive into controversy, science, or current events. It might be tough to stumble upon, depending on which side of the algorithm you’re on, but I’m a sucker for hour long documentaries on game design and development history.

Do you want JUST casual conversation podcasts? Or podcasts that have a “topic” but there’s lots of friendly bullshitting around the topic of the day? I listen to 10+ hours of podcasts a day, I might have recs if you specify.

Edit: I offer because none of the podcasts I listen to are out-of-touch millionaires complaining about their Rolexes lol.

Not OP, but if you have a recommendation for podcasts that have a “topic” but there’s lots of friendly bullshitting around the topic of the day, I’d love to hear some!

Absolutely! Heres a totally random assortment!

Your Kickstarter Sucks (Two dry funny guys mock dumb/weird Kickstarter campaigns)

Get Played (Two, then three hosts talk about weird/bad video games. Two hosts are or have been in the video game industry in some form.)

Doughboys (This is a long shot as they get REALLY weird sometimes lmao. Don’t listen if you don’t like jokes about cum. But two dudes go to and review fast food restaurants.)

Podcast: The Ride (Theme park dorks talk about theme parks/rides with full understanding of how dorky they are but they’re funny about it.)

Underunderstood (This one is a lot more controlled than some of the others, but I really enjoy it. They investigate questions “the internet can’t answer” aka a lot of weird stuff the internet thinks is a mystery just requires some digging.)

Fraudsters (A bit more topic-focused but again they’re very loose, not rigid and riff a lot. Talks about famous and not so famous fraud cases.)

I could do much more but they’ll lean more topic-focused or chat-focused.
