Pretty sure that’s illegal. You have to leave the back license plate visible. /s

On second thought, is that a license plate on the front? Where I’m from (in the US), it’s on the back, but there’s also a spot for one on the front where people like to put decorative plates (license plates, not fine china lmao…). Anyway, I never thought about why there’s a spot for one on the front. Do some places put the actual license plate in front? Do some people that here and I’ve just never noticed? Or do car manufacturers just put a holder there for people’s decorative ones?

If I sound like an idiot, it’s just because I’m young and I don’t drive. But now I’m curious lol.

Some US states require you have one on the front and back. Or at least that’s what I’ve been told by a highway patrolman.

It’s mandatory everywhere in Europe (the plate looks Spanish I think), and in some US states.

Dunno which other countries don’t require a front plate, but it’s not very common. Some Asian countries even require a front plate on motorcycles, which is about as aerodynamic as you can imagine.

On cars tho I don’t get the obsession with removing the front plate, it’s fugly on 99% of cars because there’s a flat spot anyway. But in my experience Americans are very enthusiastic about their ugly front bumpers, so you do you I guess.

There are places where you get two copies of the license plate–one on the front and one on the back. Other places just have the one on the back.

I live in the U.S. as well, and I understand the confusion! It’s a law that’s regulated by each state, so some states (like Delaware) you only have to put a license plate on the back, and some states (like Maryland) require plates on front and back. And in Texas you have to also wear a license plate on your pants when walking in any city.
