Come now, we’ve invaded far fewer of the world’s countries than the UK.

The real hypocrisy is that every last fucking one of us comes from immigrants, and yet half of us are eager to pull up the ladder behind us.

Invaded fewer, yes. Destabilised for greed and oil, causing mass migration to European countries, that’s a whole other story lol

we might be forgot but we never forget

its just that we want our ancestral land to be preserved and respected. Rare have I ever heard someone from the rez hate on refuges. Our anger is purely with the way we are treated by our own federal government and by corporations.

So if you need to leave your homeland because of reasons?

Let’s continue what was started in 1492

LET THE REFUGES COME AND BE PROSPEROUS. JUST LIKE YOUR ANCESTORS.

The great turtle island is big enough to hold us all on her back. Boarders should never exist.

Correct. Between 30,000 and 16,000 years ago, humans came to North America from Siberia…

At least as far as we know so far.

Well yeah but so long ago that I wouldn’t really count that as immigration in modern sense. Since technically everyone is immigrant except the bery first humans that existed. And if you really want to stretch it far we all immigrated from the sea before we even were humans

To be fair the UK hasn’t invaded many countries that still exist. Their creation of new countries is responsible for about half of global conflicts, but the didn’t invade those countries.

The British empire at its height covered 35.5 million sq km (13.7 million sq mi). Which is 24% of the Earth’s total land. To compare the moon is 37.9 million sq km (14.6 million sq mi). Making the moon just ~7% larger than the British empire.

About 1.5mio. people in Germany were demonstrating in the last two weeks against a political party who among other things have deportation of immigrants on their agenda. They have a shockingly high amount of votes.

Anti immigration far right populist parties have become increasingly popular in almost every European country, often becoming the second largest party even.

I guess because you haven’t heard about it it doesn’t exist. What do you think is driving the right wing resurgence across Europe over the past decade?

      https://foreignpolicy.com/2023/11/01/the-far-right-is-winning-europes-immigration-debate/

And even if you’ve never heard your wide circle of international friends complain about immigration, it doesn’t mean the point of the image is invalid. It should be World Law TM that anyone coming from a former colony of a country should have instant citizenship in said country.

As well as creating chaos in Africa via proxy military companies.

Not to mention that our economies boom off the backs of cheap labor and exploitation abroad. Then we get shocked pikachu face when the lands we’ve raped and pillage become so inhospitable that refugees come pouring in to our countries.

I fucking lost it during that David Lammy interview on LBC where that person tried to convince him that he could never truly be British because he’s not from Anglo-Saxon heritage.

He dealt with it really well, but it opened my eyes to just how insane some people are in this country. We’re literally a country that’s invaded and been invaded for centuries, and our culture is a mix of the cultures of several nations.
