One of the two games I’m glad I bought at full price. Awesome.

I’d settle for keeping Mac/Win versions in sync first!

Does this mean it’s finally going to be less of a pain to mod on linux? I still can’t get it to work and I’ve tried every method I could find

I’ve recently had success with minimal (read: some) pain using BG3ModManager.

Unfortunately trying to play multiplayer gave me the dreaded GustavDev version mismatch, but that’s not specific to Linux.

I’m using vortex through steamtinkerlaunch, and it’s working as expected. If you haven’t tried that, give it a go.

I just followed some instructions I found for steam tinker launch. I do remember having some issues getting it working at first, but I got it up and running and it’s been working since. Can’t remember exact steps though, I’m afraid.

Out of curiosity, in your opinion if I’m trying to start the game and quickly determine if it’s properly modded or not what mod should I test?

Also no luck so far with steam tinker launch

If you’re going to be using the script extender, some of the most obvious mods to check if it works are Native Camera Tweaks and WASD. They’re also, IMO, some of the most important mods to improve the experience.

Might try asking the several Linux communities, they might have some tips based on your specific setup, if you’re cool sharing log dumps and config files.

You can skip those. I’m not sure what the keyboard command is, but on controller, hit triangle or Y when you roll. It goes straight to the final result.

You can skip them but still have to let it pop up, I’ve also been put off by this. Also most of the arguments I’ve had against me when I’ve asked about mods for this are people saying things like “but it’s dnd, you’re supposed to have the dice” which is fair but I disagree, BG3 isn’t a ttrpg and the animation showing up is immersion breaking.

Honestly, I kinda agree with you on this. There have been many dnd games, none that I’ve played have included the bts stuff because it does sorta break the immersion in a video game. I do like having this as a mod though, because that makes it optional, and some people might like it!

I just click again right after clicking the dice to roll them, it skips the animation and just gives me the finished roll, complete with added bonuses.
