Dogs can make anyone sort of likeable
It’s true, although I’ll say Bush 41 was far more tolerable than either Republican president who came before or after him. His policies were still Republican bullshit, but he was neither batshit crazy nor stupid.
I’ll also point out here that we recently had a president with no pets at all, and let you draw your own conclusions.

Driving the Iraqi Army out of Kuwait was ok. Bombing half of Iraq’s infrastructure afterwards was unnecessary.

Yea, he was pretty crazy. Soft introduction that has harmed literally every American, he’s the direct reason Clarence Thomas is on the supreme Court, which has been an absolute disaster for the past 30 years in terms of all civil rights.
To get into war in Iraq, Bush Sr. repeated stories over and over, that were complete fabrications, about Iraqi soldiers stabbing Kuwaiti babies told by the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador to the us, and funded by an American pr firm.
What I’m mainly referring to is him overseeing operation Condor, the South American operation that replaced any leader in South America not loyal to the United States with us loyalists, through outright assassination or fomenting false us- trained and funded “revolutionary” groups in the region to assassinate those democratically appointed leaders.
He’s responsible for the Iran Contra and Vietnam atrocities, it just keeps going on.
And that’s really the tip of the iceberg.
