Edit: I just saw the last comic where Hobbes literally said it’s Astro Boy. It’s really cool that bill watterson knew about that in the 80s. Maybe he’s been a secret og weeb all along.

We rarely saw other family members, in large part because they could never refer to Calvin’s parents by name. That doesn’t mean Calvin’s grandma never received the pictures, though!
