Pilots for FedEx have rejected a tentative labor deal. But that doesn’t mean they’re about to walk off the job just as UPS is threatened with its own strike by 340,000 drivers and other hourly ground workers.

Pilots already make plenty of money though
My guess is it’s not just about the money.
I think that’s their point. They make good money already, so it’s like you said. likely about other issues.
They pay huge sums out of their own pockets for qualifications and they have a complex job with high responsibility.
arent most commercial pilots in the US ex-military?
There are about 13k pilots in the military and about 110k employed commercial pilots in the US.
So does the CEO
The current FedEx CEO makes almost 23 times what the average pilot makes, and that’s not including his company stock and options. And his FedEx shares of 0.037%, are worth roughly $23.97 million alone.
My Googling tells me-

I wouldn’t say you’re living large on less than $50k a year.
50k entry level which quickly goes up in following years
and besides 50k is not that bad
50k is not that bad where? Because between rent, insurance, gas and food, you’re not going to have much left at the end of the month.
