    MiniDiscs is probably the most futuristic medium ever designed.

    The bright colors, the shiny discs, the small formfactor and the cool design of the players, all still look futuristic.

    I am sad that I never got into the format…

      You never did because (the rumor was) physical space was a lot more limited in Japan where these were a useful upgrade over full sized CDs.

    Too bad Sony murdered it by insisting on keeping it proprietary, just like so many of their other formats.

    That’s how I’ve been listening to my tunes lately! I’ve got a dozen minidiscs in my bag with me at work right now. Current player of choice is the MZ-B10.

    Relent the advert for them featuring Reef , thought they were going to be the new led zeppelin! They were the coolest thing though, the recordable player and all, always loved sony stuff.

    No, I mean yes of course I remember them, but I never had one even tho I lusted for a player. Yet another technology I missed out on, which is probably a good thing because it’s dead and would have wasted money, but is also definitely a bad thing because of how cool the technology is.
