I feel sorry for Barron, and not just for his first name. He looks so unhappy. I hope he’s relatively normal compared to his siblings, despite them and his dad.

I don’t. He’s going to be a delegate at the Republican Convention. He’s just as much a piece of shit as everyone else in that inbred family.

Lol, what the hell even is this family. It’s obvious Donald and Melania don’t talk to each other at all if they have to air their disagreements through press releases like this.

Thank for that, I was not aware of his mom’s press release regarding this when I initially posted.

“He does like politics. It’s sort of funny. He will tell me sometimes, ‘Dad, this is what you have to do,'” Trump told Philadelphia’s Talk Radio 1210 WPHT radio station. “So anyway, he’s a good guy.”

I will say that this isn’t giving me much faith that Barron isn’t a total piece of shit, unless his advice to his dad is “stop being a fucking traitorous crusty cum stain you old bitch”. I’m 50-50 on it because either way Trump would describe him with the exact same wording.

And even if he does some dickish stuff at 18, it’s possible to grow, have regrets, learn from mistakes etc.

Not if you share the opinion of everyone here apparently. According to lemmy, an 18 year old fed with a silver spoon and thrust into the limelight is basically pol pot 2.0

God i was a shithead at 18, but eventually i turned into a fairly decent adult. I would like to think that at least. I know the kid has a hell of an uphill battle even if he does have a decent core to him, what with the fame, fortune, and batshit insane family, but if the public opinion treats him like it does here, ill be honest, i would hate the entire world and everyone in it too, just like his old man. Seems like his mom sees that at least. I wish him well and hope he turns out nothing like his father.

His mother issued a statement that he had a “prior engagement,” which is always code for the person in question saying “fuck no, and fuck you for not asking me first.”

I think this is just totally inappropriate to put on any kid.

He’s a kid. You are kind-of being a piece of shit for what you are doing right now.

People that didn’t grow up in environments where you’re surrounded by shitty, bigoted opinions don’t understand just how fucking hard it is and how long it takes to deprogram yourself from that shit. Took me longer than 18.

Once he starts personally getting on stage and being a bigoted shitbag, I’m more than fine with putting him on blast. Til then, I’m willing to give the kid at least some of the benefit of the doubt.

Exactly. Shitbirds of a shitfeather flock together.

            But until he does so…

If the world boxes him in (and I guarantee the kid feels boxed in), they’re force him to become the piece of shit the world expects him to be…

Like, I dont envy this kid one bit, but if you don’t allow him an escape hatch…

I really, really don’t like this growing trend of refusing to believe that people can change. I was caught on the young, dumb teenage libertarian > far right pipeline fucking hard. If I hadn’t had friends that recognized that and (figuratively) knocked some sense into me, I’m not entirely certain I would’ve changed.

Edit: apparently hit send mid thought, fixed that

He was a kid when his dad was running for office the first time, 2 years shy of a decade ago. He’s an adult now. A legal adult stepping in to politics by acting as a delegate, to cast a nomination vote for his insurrectionist, traitor, Putin’s ballsack gargling father is putting something on a kid? In that context, assuming that he’s materially different than literally anyone else in his immediate family is inappropriate? The pieces of shit here all have the surname “Trump”.

Apparently Melania said he’s not doing it, I wasn’t aware. So if Barton’s reading this, sorry bro I’m sure you’re a totally chill guy. You’re also shooting a pretty suss look at your dad’s hand there. If you’re getting beat by that fucker you should give Bob Woodward a call or some shit.

I mean, this kid has zero chance for ever having a normal life. I think of those stories of Micheal Jackson renting a supermarket and having his friends and employees walk around so he could just go shopping like a regular person.

I don’t think the Trump family can produce a relatively normal person, but hopefully for his sake.

I should say the Donald Trump offspring, not necessarily the whole Trumps.

The one thing I learned about their family is that no one is a normal, upstand person. For example people were having high hopes for Melania to be more human than trump, but she is just like him. Though it does look like she is trying to copy him, even her signature is very similar.

From what I’ve seen so far he unfortunately turned out like his brothers. I also had similar hopes for him, but I guess it’s hard to do growing up in that environment.

So what have you seen of this kid who has deliberate avoided media attention?

All I’ve seen is him declining an RNC invitiation. And also tons of pictures of him looking miserable next to his family…
