When you can’t stop the killing, you try to limit the suffering. Probably.
Oh that’s been my general approach for some time now. I also work with an underserved population (that’s how this cropped up in my social circles) but damn that’s dark.
In the context of the US criminal justice system, especially in more conservative states, the cruelty is the point.
