      I mean, if the Tribunal of Six doesn’t back the fuck off, they’re liable to start finding out the real gist of the statement “they’re only appointed for life”.

      Uh, you may not know this but Thurgood Marshall was already on the Supreme Court. /s

      Cashin is a university law professor though. Besides clerking, she doesn’t have any judicial experience. Not that we haven’t made such appointments to SCOTUS before, it’s just less common.
