Well, $1 from you and 100 other people. Those politician bribes campaign donations are cheap compared to the aggregate profit they make off them.

Its always baffled me how corporations managed to bribe politicians but its legal because they use the term “lobbying” instead.

Imagining murdering someone then saying nope thats not a crime, simply because you won’t call it a homicide, instead you keep labeling it something else.

Or another example, i’m not allowed to “lobby” a police officer out of giving me a ticket, but a mining corporation can lobby away their environmental regulations.

It’s another reason we need term limits. The accumulated power and influence a representative has gained needs to be checked.

Term limits are needed, but that alone won’t solve the problem since corporations have an army of flunkies ready to do their bidding in the political arena. Different name, same effect

Youre forgetting they get to decide what the excel looks like. Even if it costs them 5$ per person to get 1$ from them, all they need to show is the excel with employee costs going down to call it profit. The expenses paid out to friends and politicians “need to be spent anyway” so it’s not reallt “a loss”.

You should see the P&L of these companies and how they twist themselves into knots making the line go up

      They’ve already stripped our dollars

You’re assuming that they can’t strip dollars from you that you don’t even have. They can and are.

One of the few highlights this season. I’m hoping it’s just the writer’s strike which caused this season to be so directionless and we get season 2 tier tv again next year

I noticed that many of the episodes were either written or directed or both by the cast. Maybe that was the issue?

There was no joy this season, only bad stuff. I hope they turn it around.

Remember everyone, CEOs do this stuff at the behest of capital. The shareholders want you to be annoyed at the CEO whos simply acting on their orders. Its part of the reason they pay CEOs so much.

They want us to be annoyed at everyone but the shareholders. Capital has always been the problem.

This doesn’t apply to most people in my country. Only 28% of Americans work for publicly traded companies.

You will own nothing, and you will be happy.

You will be unrepresented in government, and you will smile in the mirror every morning and say “Joe Biden is the most labor friendly president in American history” 69 times.

What did you think this was, a free country? Nope, this country is not free. It’s expensive as hell, and you can’t afford the price.

Don’t worry, we’ll be referring to Trump soon enough because of comments like this one, and the floods of far worse comments trying to influence people away from voting blue this November.
